Following Arsenal's cruising 2-0 victory over Napoli, Arsene Wenger was delighted with the result and his team's effort, including 2 fantastic goals and a clean sheet to round off a fine display against the Italian power house.
"Once again, we clearly demonstrated what we can do with the ball. We were looking sharp and confident, and Napoli just couldn't keep up"
"Personally, I think they came unprepared for the battle. I mean, looking at they way they play and, from the very first minute, how we were really dominating against their rather high back line, the thing is, they never put enough pressure on us when we were on the ball, and with the way things have been going here (at Arsenal) we just took the initiative to strike first."
"Obviously he (Rafa Benitez) knows us well, but I doubt if he did much homework against our side this time round. I mean, when we played Swansea last Saturday, we were struggling a bit with the possession in the first half. It was like a dog fight in the midfield, they pressed us up to about thirty-forty yards in front of our goal, putting in tremendous work rate, and they were visibly the better team, but they somehow decided to ease up on us after the half-time break and we were able to capitalize quickly with two well-worked goals. My point is, I think Benitez's Napoli played a bit like how Swansea played us after the half time break and the same thing happened."
